Connecting West Leeds, Horsforth to Rodley survey results - what you told us

Following this consultation, a total of 309 surveys were completed, 298 online and 11 at the event held on 24th November at St. Margaret's Parish Centre in Horsforth.

The survey was broken down into three parts, the Connecting West Leeds corridor, the Horsforth Roundabout Merge and the Horsforth to Rodley Cycleway.

Connecting West Leeds corridor -

Overall, 46% said they were in favour of the proposals with 17.5% not showing a preference either way. Of these there was a strong belief that the improvements would be better for pedestrians and cyclists whilst others felt there might be an increase in congestion.

Horsforth roundabout merge -

Nearly half were very supportive of this proposal whilst 37% felt unhappy about it. Below shows the reasons for this, with nearly 19% thinking the improvements don't go far enough, 13.5% felt it will be better for cyclists, and 12.4 % think traffic congestion will improve.

Additionally, the most liked aspect of this proposal was the increase to a two lane section and 25% saying they don't like the shared space for pedestrians and cyclists.

Horsforth to Rodley cycleway

57% of those surveyed felt positive about the proposals for the cycleway, the main reasons identified for this being they felt it would make it safer and be better for the environment. Nearly 6% said they don't think the proposal goes far enough.

Of the 309 surveys completed, 48% people live in the area, 30% commute through, 11% work in the area and 68% are aged between 35 and 64, and 71% male.
